What is a Budget Payment Plan?

Understanding Budget Accounts for Heating Oil or LPG Payments

With a budget account, you build credit during warmer months and may enter debit over the winter, just like with electricity or other utility bills. We advise customers on a budget plan not to withdraw any credit from their account, as this could increase payments during the winter or at year-end.

Factors like more frequent orders, larger fuel quantities or changes in heating oil or LPG prices can affect your monthly payments.

How to Join the Budget Payment Plan

As an existing customer, you can join the budget payment plan at any time. However, you must clear your account balance by May 31st each year. For new customers placing their first order, we require upfront payment at the time of ordering. We encourage you to then join the budget payment plan for future purchases.

Key Factors

• The amount debited will be agreed between yourself and Gleaner.
• This amount will vary depending on your purchase history and annual usage.
• The payment plan operates between 1st June and  31st May inclusively each year. This means your account must be settled by 31st May each year.
• We ask for payment upfront for the first order placed with us. You will then be eligible to join the payment plan and build a credit balance for your next order. If you do have a balance, standard credit terms are payment by 10th of the following month.

• You can also opt to pay for your order in full by setting up a variable Direct Debit. This payment is taken from your bank account on the 10th of the following month.

• If you do not wish to arrange a monthly Direct Debit, orders should be paid in full at the time of ordering.
