Gleaner Oils are pleased to support a team of 9 RAF personnel who are about to embark on a gruelling charity effort to raise money for DebRA, the charity working on behalf of children and adults who suffer from the condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa.

On Friday 4 June four cyclists will start off the challenge, attempting to cycle the length and breadth of Scotland, covering over 1500 miles and climbing over 46,000 feet in the process, equivalent to completing from Lands End to John O’Groats twice, as well as climbing well over the height of Mount Everest. The team will set off from RAF Kinloss on the first stage off the planned 15 day arduous cycle.

This will be followed on Sunday 13 June, when the other two challenges begin from their start point at Point of Ardnamurchan, in Argyll, which is the most westerly point of Great Britain. A team of four walkers will cover a distance of over 170 miles in 6 days, whilst two kayakers will paddle the more direct route, following the Great Glen before reaching the Moray Firth - a distance of 146 miles. To make the paddle even more of a challenge though, the team of two will have to wild camp overnight, and carry everything that they will need themselves.

A grand finale is planned when all three elements of the challenge expect to cross the finish line in Findhorn on 18 June within minutes of each other at around 2.30 pm.
