LPG is a term used to describe the group of hydrocarbon gases that exist as vapour under ambient conditions of temperature and pressure, but which can be liquefied by the application of moderate pressure or refrigeration.

Liquefied Petroleum Gases originate either from the oil and / or gas fields where they are removed as condensable products from Natural Gas, or from oil refineries, where they are extracted as one of the lighter fractions produced from the processing of crude oil and petrochemicals.

LPG is fast becoming the sound choice to replace CFCs for refrigeration and aerosol applications, reducing the environmental impact on the ozone layer.

LPG’s ability to liquefy under modest pressure is one of the key characteristics distinguishing it from Natural Gas. When LPG vapour is liquefied the volume occupied significantly reduces making it easy to store and transport in specially constructed pressure vessels (e.g. bulk tanks and gas cylinders / bottles).

If you feel that LP Gas could be the right fuel choice for you then make an appointment today with Gleaner. We will arrange a visit at a time that is convenient to you and assess your specific needs and to assess the site for installation requirements.

Propane is predominately used for domestic heating, cooking and numerous commercial and industrial applications. It is also used for leisure applications, when it is found in red cylinders or green Patio Gas cylinders.
